Tamarind Rice - Solely South Indian

Hello Again. Here we are gonna see a lightening fast recipe - Tamarind Rice.

**** Serves 1 ****

Ingredients :

- Tamarind : 30 gms

- Onion : 1 small size

- Mustard : 1 tsp

- Red Chilli : 1 no

- Chilli Powder : 1/2 tsp

- Turmeric Powder : 1/2 tsp

- Coriander Powder : 1 tsp

- Salt : 1 1/2 tsp

- Asofoetida : 1 tsp

  • Chop Onions into medium size pieces.

Step 1:

- Take 1/2 bowl of Water and boil it for 2 mins. Soak the Tamarind in it and allow it for 15 mins.

Step 2 :

- Squeeze the soaked Tamarind and extract the Juice. In a Pan, Add Oil, Mustard, Red Chilli, Peanuts & Onions and wait till the Onion turns light Brown.

Step 3:

- Pour the extracted Juice into it. Add Salt, Turmeric, Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder & Asofoetida. Mix well under low flame until the juice becomes thick.

Step 4 :

- Add the Boiled White Rice and mix well until the gravy mixes well to the white rice.
