Dal Fry with Sprouts - North Indian Style

Welcome Again. Here, We are gonna see how to make a simple yet healthy Dal fry. Below are our Step by Step procedure with images to makes sure that Anybody can Cook.
NOTE :
- tsp : Tea Spoon
- tbsp : Table Spoon
- gms ; Grams
**** Serves 4 ****
Ingredients :
- Tomato : 4 medium size
- Onion : 3 small size
- Sprouted Moong Dal : 100 - 150 gms
- Everest Sambar Masala : 1 tbsp
- Toor Dal : 1 and 1/4 Cup
- Ginger Garlic Paste
- Chilli Powder : 1 tsp
- Turmeric Powder : 1/4 tsp
- Mustard : 1 tsp
- Cumin : 1 tsp
- Salt : as required (recommended 1 tbsp)
- Asafoetida : 1/2 tsp
Chop Onions & Tomatoes into small pieces.

Step 1: Cook the Dal & Sprouts
- Firstly, Cook the Moong Dal Sprouts in a Rice Cooker. Measure the amount of Sprouts you are adding using a Standard Cup and add double the amount of Water to it and Cook it for 2 - 3 whistle at high flame. Remove it asap and keep it aside. Keep the Water remaining in the Cooker as we will use it in the last stage. Follow the same procedure for cooking the Toor Dal also.



Step 2:
- In a Pan, add 4 tbsp Oil. Once the Oil is hot, add Mustard & Cumins. Add Chopped Onions and add 1 tbsp of Ginger Garlic paste and saute well. Once the Onions turn slight brown add the Tomatoes.

Step 3:
- Add Quarter glass of Water to it and close it. Allow the tomatoes to cook well to make it a single mixture for 5 mins in medium flame. After 5 mins, smash the tomatoes and make it a single mixture and add Asafoetida powder.

Step 4 :
- To it, add Chilli Powder, Everest Sambar masala & Turmeric Powder and stir well. Allow to boil for 2 mins. Add little water if required.
Step 5 :
- Add the Cooked Sprouts & Dal and mix well. Add the Water that was collected after cooking the Sprouts. Add salt and stir. Allow it for 5 mins under medium heat.
